Hi,
We hope everyone is having a great summer!
Francois is trying to keep cool, and loves getting his ears iced to stay even cooler on really hot days.
A friend of mine has a guide dog from Guide Dogs for the Blind. He was asked to do an interview about his guide dog. My friend was given a list of the questions he’d be asked during the interview. One of the questions was “if your guide dog were a human, which profession would she choose”. We had fun discussing how his dog’s various personality traits would suit different occupations.
That discussion started me thinking about the bunnies I’ve had over the years, and which professions they might have had if they were humans. I know for sure my Artemis would have been a ballerina, she loved spinning and dancing. Francois would either be a chef or a farmer so he could always have access to great food. My Sophie would have been an architect. She loved re-designing boxes, walls, and anything she could chew. I have also had an aspiring archeologist who loved digging for treasures, a gymnast, an artist, and many construction workers.

We all need to stay hydrated during the warmer months, and so do our bunnies. Adding a few herbs to your bunny’s water bowl may entice your bunny to drink more water. Your bunny will appreciate the fresh taste of dill water, or water with basil. Francois is a real fan of anything with fennel or dill.
Our summer recipe is a crisp and cool snack that will refresh your bunny on a hot summer’s day.
Romaine Pizza
(Serves 2 bunnies)
2 Romaine lettuce leaves left whole
1/2 cup diced parsley
1/2 cup diced cilantro
1/2 carrot grated
Use the lettuce leaves as your pizza crust. Add the diced parsley and diced cilantro. Top with the grated carrot for a cheesy topping effect.
