Funny Bunny Toy Company is celebrating our 20th Anniversary this month!
Funny Bunny Toy Company started back in July of 1997 with our first product, the original rabbit playhouse, named the Bunny Bungalow.
Since then we have specialized in original, handmade, wooden toys for pet rabbits.
We’ve been striving to add a little fun into bunny lives for the past 20 years. We hope Funny Bunny Toy Company has brought a little fun into your bunny’s life.
In case you haven’t had time to read our website about the history of our beginning, I’ll briefly mention it now. Funny Bunny Toy Company was started with a grant from the Center for Independent Living in Berkeley, CA after I became disabled and could no longer work as a paramedic.
I wanted to start a business which I could do from home, and Funny Bunny Toy Company was born. With my lifelong love of animals, and having my first 2 bunnies at the age of 8, a toy company for bunnies was a natural transition for me.
I’ve been lucky to have my own bunnies as well as the help of the House Rabbit Society’s bunnies, and local rabbit rescues act as product testers for all of my new toys. All of our products have a bunny seal of approval before they are sold on our website.
It’s been our pleasure over the past 20 years to be able to donate toys to various rabbit shelters and rescues for their annual fundraising events. We hope to continue to do so.

Since summer is upon us, I thought it would be fun to make some Bunny Popsicles for our recipe this month. My bunny Artemis used to love chewing on ice cubes. I worried that they may chip or break her teeth, but her vet assured me it was fine. Our Bunny Fruit Popsicles are also good to add to a cool summer beverage for you, and our Herb Bunny Popsicles are great to pop into soups and stews.
BUNNY POPSICLES
We have 2 types of popsicles for your bunny to try.
A fruit popsicle and an herb popsicle
FRUIT BUNNY POPSICLE
(1 per serving per bunny)
Ingredients:
A few each of your bunny’s favorite berries
(Strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries work well)
Empty ice cube tray
Directions:
Slice strawberries into halves or quarters
Leave blueberries and raspberries whole
Wash fruit well
Place one strawberry half or two quarters into each section of ice cube tray
Place pointed end up so it will stick out and your bunny can grab it.
I like to divide each tray into 2 or 3 different flavors.
Then add blueberries and raspberries either mixed or alone into sections of ice cube tray
Add water about ¾ full
Freeze until frozen, then remove from tray and store in Ziploc bags.
HERB BUNNY POPSICLES
Ingredients:
Select your bunny’s favorite herbs
(Parsley, cilantro, dill, mint, fennel top, or basil work well)
Directions:
Wash the herbs and coarsely chop, leaving some in 2” pieces
Place a mix of herbs into each section of an ice cube tray or divide by individual herbs
The herbs will float, so only fill the ice cube section about ½ way full
When the cube has frozen, top off with more water to cover the herbs, or leave as is.
When the cubes are frozen, remove from trays and store in Ziploc bags.
Bun Appétit
Don’t forget to keep some water bottles in the freezer to cool off your bunnies. They are great to snuggle with on a hot day!
